HONG KONG CADETSHIPS.
With the view of supplying the
Civil Service of Hong Kong, Cadetships
have been established, the holders of
which are required to devote themselves
for a certain time after their arrival
in the East to learning a dialect of
Chinese and to acquiring a knowledge of
Government business.
2. The Cadets, who must be natural-
born British subjects of pure European
descent on both sides, are selected by
open competitive examination' held by

the Civil Service Commissioners, to whom
all inquiries on the subject should be
addressed.
The examination for these appointments
will, as a rule, be held in the
month of August, in those years in
which vacancies have occurred,
simultaneously with the examination
for the Civil Service of India.
Candidates must be between the ages
of 22 and 24 on the first day of
August
